Libyan East Army troops in Libya have launched airstrikes in the southern part of Tripoli. The attack was carried out on Sunday. This information was given in a report by Reuters news agency, according to local residents.
A local man said that he saw an aircraft attack.
LNA spokesman Ahmed Mismari said the air force took part in the military operation for the first time. The airport in Tripoli has managed a very successful operation to secure the airport road.
The Libyan National Army Forces (LNA) in eastern Libya's Caliph Haftar supports the previous administration. They took positions against the internationally recognized Libyan government. They have been moving towards Tripoli from last week to the west.
After the ouster of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, the residents of the country are seen fighting the power of the government and the parallel government led LNA forces. Conflicts took place at the International Airport on Tripoli earlier this Friday. Haftar LNA took control of the last night that day. The LNA spokesman and the residents there said this information. Government forces claim that they have occupied the previous airport.
United Nations and western countries tried to negotiate between UN-supported Libyan Presidency Council and country's Prime Minister Faiz Mustafa Al-Sharjah (59) and Haftar. Two of them discussed last month about sharing power with a meeting in Dubai. Egypt and the United Arab Emirates support Haftar. According to the United Nations, military assistance from two countries is shocking.
United Arab Emirates also expressed concerns with the western countries about the latest situation. Russia says they are not helping the Haftar Bahini, and they have the support of a political compromise to avoid new bloodshed in the region. Tunisia has taken tight security measures along the border with Libya in the new conflict.
