Many more could die, Biden warned

18 November 2020

US President-elect Joe Biden warns of dire consequences if Donald Trump and his administration refuse to coordinate with his transition team on the coronavirus epidemic and block briefings on national security, policy issues and vaccine plans .

This was Biden's toughest message so far about his refusal to accept defeat in the presidential election and Trump's non-cooperation in the peaceful transfer of power.

"More people could die if we don't coordinate," Biden told reporters at a news conference in Wilmington, Delaware, on Monday.

Biden and his allies and a small but growing group of Republicans have stressed the importance of informing everyone about the White House's efforts to control the epidemic and distribute potential vaccines.

While the Trump administration has said it will work on its own distribution plan, Biden's chief of staff has indicated that his transition team will move forward with their own plans because of the obstacles.

Sen. "It's very important that the president-elect and his party have full access to the ongoing plan to distribute the vaccine," said Susan Collins, R-Mine

“Distributing vaccines is not an easy task,” Collins said. That's why the Trump administration should share its plans with the new administration on public health issues, and that's absolutely essential. "

Mutual cooperation between the winning and losing candidates in the presidential election and the administration has traditionally been a key element in the peaceful transfer of power in the United States. However, this election was significant because of the coronavirus epidemic, which is growing dramatically.

Biden said the distribution of the coronavirus vaccine was a "big initiative" and that if his party had to wait until it took office to look into the government's distribution plan, they would be "a month or a month behind schedule".

Before questioning reporters, Biden outlined his various plans to eliminate inequality and restore the US economy.

Is freedom of speech equal to insulting the Prophet (peace be upon him)?

30 October 2020

Ayatollah Uzma Khamenei, Iran's supreme leader, calls on French President Emmanuel Macron to question the legitimacy of his stance on insulting the Prophet Muhammad.
Addressing the French youth, Khamenei said, "Ask your president why he took the position of insulting the Messenger of God." He added that young people in France should ask their president if freedom of speech is the same as insulting the Messenger of God and a holy man.

Ayatollah Uzma Khamenei made the remarks in a statement issued on Wednesday. He further added that Macron had insulted the people of France who had elected him president through his foolish actions. Recently, a school teacher in France named Samuel Patty showed a satirical cartoon of the Prophet (PBUH) in the name of freedom of speech in the classroom. Then a 16-year-old Chechen youth killed the teacher. French President Emmanuel Macron called the incident a "crisis of Islam" and said "Islam is in crisis all over the world."

He publicly declared that the printing of such cartoons would never stop in France. He also said that the young man who killed the French teacher did so not because of extremism but because of his faith. By saying all this, Emanuel Macron has insulted Islam and the entire Muslim world. His remarks sparked a storm of condemnation and protest in the Muslim world.

China wants to unilaterally change border situation

 Ladakh border
Chinese activity is entirely responsible for the tense situation that has prevailed along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh for the past four months. China wants to change the status quo along the LAC unilaterally. Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Anurag Srivastava made the allegations in response to multiple questions about the border situation at a weekly briefing on Thursday. He said the situation needs to be tackled responsibly.

The situation in East Ladakh has been tense since last June. China's military is trying to unilaterally change the status quo of the LAC. On 15 June there was a bloody clash. There were casualties on both sides. 20 Indian soldiers were killed. Since then, talks between the two sides at the military level and at the diplomatic level have continued, but tensions have not abated. Meanwhile, the Chinese attempt to change the situation in the southern part of Pangong Lake was thwarted by the Indian forces. The Indian military claims that Chinese troops tried to change the situation south of Pangong Lake last Monday. India has not only thwarted it, it has taken over the militarily important 'black top'. Soon after the incident, China officially accused India of violating the LAC. This is the first such Chinese complaint in East Ladakh.

In response to multiple questions about the ongoing situation in the LAC, the Indian Foreign Ministry spokesman said that China's behavior was merely provocative. Their conduct violated bilateral agreements and protocols. Destroyed peace and stability on the border. He said talks were the only way to end the stalemate and defuse tensions. The only way is to negotiate at the military level and at the diplomatic level. India wants an end to all disputes through peaceful talks. He said the two countries have an agreement to solve the problem. The situation should be dealt with in accordance with that understanding so that peace and stability can be maintained.

A conference of foreign ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is being held in Moscow, Russia. Foreign Minister S Jayashankar is going to attend that conference. The conference is scheduled to start on September 10. The Chinese Foreign Minister will also be present there. For the time being, there is intense speculation as to whether border tensions between the two Indo-Chinese foreign ministers are being discussed during the recess of the conference.

Russia is trying to get the vaccine within a month

15 July 2020, 14:25 BDT
Russia is trying to get the vaccine within a month
Efforts have been made to develop a vaccine against the coronavirus since the epidemic spread around the world. Scientists are working day and night to develop effective and safe vaccines and treatments. Several potential vaccine inventions have already been demanded in different parts of the world. Some of these potential vaccines are being tested on humans. None of these ticks are likely to come out very recently. But Russian scientists say they are hopeful the corona vaccine will be available within a month.
The Moscow-based English-language online news outlet The Moscow Times reported on Monday. The world's first coronavirus vaccine will be administered to patients next month, according to Russian scientists. Earlier, a medical university in Moscow said it had successfully administered the vaccine to volunteers.
The World Health Organization's website lists a number of vaccine initiatives around the world. As of last week, the list contained information on 160 initiatives. According to the list, 21 vaccines have reached the stage of clinical trials in humans. And 139 remain in the pre-experimental stage. Of the 21 vaccines in the clinical trial, one was from Oxford, UK. The British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca is with the study from Oxford University. They said they were hopeful of getting the vaccine by next October. The Oxford vaccine and the Sinovec vaccine in China are in the third stage of the clinical trial. At this stage, the effectiveness of the vaccine is tested on a large number of people. The remaining 19 vaccines in the clinical trial are in the first or second stage. And in the pre-clinical trial, there are vaccines of two institutes of India, Serum Institute of India and Indian Immunological Limited.
In addition, the German biotechnology company Bio n Tech and Pfizer Inc., a New York-based pharmaceutical company in the United States, are working together to develop the vaccine. They say they are optimistic about vaccine production by the end of this year if all goes well.
Russia's potential vaccine was invented by the state-run Gamali National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, The Moscow Times reported. The Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University in Moscow began administering the potential vaccine to 36 volunteers last June. At the same time, the Russian military conducted a two-month test of the same vaccine.
Alexander Gintzberg, head of the Gamali Center, told state news agency Tas that he hoped the potential vaccine would be available for public use between August 12-14. However, the private sector will be able to start mass production by September.
Yelena Smoliarchuk, head of the Clinical Research Center at Sechenov University, said the study was over. The vaccine has been shown to be safe. After keeping the Sechenov University volunteers in isolation for 28 days, one team is scheduled to leave on Wednesday and the other next Monday, he said. The age of the volunteers was between 18 and 65 years. They will be monitored for the next six months.

Dangerous armaments in the Asia-Pacific region

12 July 2020, 22:25 BDT
US allies Australia and Japan have recently announced that they will strengthen their defenses. At the same time, he spoke of conducting military activities more aggressively. The move by the two countries to protect themselves from China's rapid military expansion amid growing tensions in the Asia-Pacific region is being called a 'game-changer'.
In late June, the Australian government announced that defense spending would increase by 40 per cent over the next decade to strengthen the defense system. This announcement surprised most observers. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the post-Corona epidemic would make the world more 'fragile', more dangerous and more chaotic. That is why all kinds of preparations have to be made.
Australia is a major partner in the Asia-Pacific region of the United States. So Australia's new strategic thinking is at the heart of the two countries' co-operation. Intelligence exchanges, US military bases in Australia, arms purchases from the United States are still considered major joint issues between the two countries. And when it comes to strategic goals such as countering China's regional influence, it becomes important to them.
China's growing military presence on the South China Sea and on the Indian border has worried many analysts that China is moving towards a military action such as war. With these steps in mind, Australia is slowly modernizing its military. They are bringing modern submarines from France, the first shipment of sophisticated US warplanes has already been received. It is also strengthening the navy due to its geographical location.
The United States is set to sell advanced anti-ship missiles to Australia. These missiles can be fired from warplanes or ships. It has so much power that it can hit and sink a warship within 360 kilometers. Besides, work is also underway to install special nets under the sea. This will send information to the defense forces about the arrival of fake submarines and vessels.
Meanwhile, after World War II, Japan has always relied on the United States for defense. But the country is reducing that dependence. In addition to seeking US assistance, the country is trying to increase its military capabilities on its own. The country's move is being seen as a 'game-changer'. Japan has been increasing its military budget for eight consecutive years. The country's military budget is now ৬ 46 billion. With this huge amount of money, the Japanese government is working to streamline the military system. They are modernizing the air force, buying state-of-the-art F-35 fighter jets and early warning warplanes. Not just China, North Korea is also a big threat to Japan. Pyongyang's new test of a long-range missile has become a major headache for Tokyo. Japan is also considering building a massive defense system along the coast to counter attacks by neighboring countries. Although in June a project called Aegis Ashor was canceled. However, the Japanese government has not given up hope of building a defense zone.
U.S. warships have stepped up patrols in the Asia-Pacific region in response to threats from China and North Korea. Occasionally the United States participates in military exercises with allies. India is also increasing its military presence. As a result, the region has now become a dangerous arena for arms races.

Wild bison returning to the UK

Wild bison are returning to the UK after nearly six thousand years. A small herd of endangered species will be released in Kent in the spring of 2022. In addition to a 1 million project to protect the endangered species, a natural pine forest will be created in the UK. This will create an environment for birds and wildlife through the creation of mixed forests.
According to a report in The Guardian, one male and three female bison will be raised in the early stages of their breeding through natural breeding. Bison usually give birth to a baby once a year. A bison will be brought from the Netherlands or Poland. These two countries have already survived after the bison were released into the wild.
The number of important wildlife in the UK has dropped by an average of 70 per cent since the 1970s. Despite many conservation efforts, the United Kingdom is one of the world's most endangered countries.
Paul Hadoway, director of the Kent Wildlife Trust, said: “The problem we are in now is that the Walder Blin project can be a solution to protecting the climate and nature in a wild and natural way. By conserving species like bison we are going to start the process of natural conservation. Bison usually eat the bark and rub the hair on the tree. When the tree dies, it becomes a habitat for insects. It creates a great environment for birds and other animals. It creates an ecosystem.
Bison existed in the United Kingdom six thousand years ago. Bison later came close to extinction due to hunting and habitat changes. The European bison is a close relative of that bison.

Suddenly soft tone of China, alert India

12 July 2020, 19:25 BDT
There were recent bloody clashes between Indian and Chinese forces in the Galwan Valley in Ladakh. File photo Reuters
India is watching the statement of the Chinese ambassador to India while easing tensions in Ladakh. The statement said the two countries should consider each other as allies. Not the opponent.
This statement has aroused the curiosity of India. Thoughts of the moment in the diplomatic arena, this statement is not only soft in terms of the past, but also inspiring enough respect. After so much bloodshed, what is the main purpose of issuing this statement, the South Bloc is currently engaged in that thought.
Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong said in a video statement released on Friday night that any doubts and disputes in bilateral relations need to be resolved quickly. The two countries need to build mutual trust and hold strategic discussions from time to time. The two countries should resolve the issue through talks before the situation becomes complicated. The two countries need to understand that they are allies of each other. Not opponents or rivals. It would not be right for both countries to fall into any trap. The ambassador said China is not an expansionist war country at all. Peace should prevail in both India and China. Not conflict.
The two countries have just begun the peace process after bloody clashes between the two sides in the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh. In the aftermath of the conflict, however, India has taken multiple measures. For example, it has been decided to strengthen the army presence along the Line of Control throughout the year. Wartime alerts will be maintained throughout the year at Air Force bases. Initiatives have been taken to cut off the Chinese dependence on the Indian economy. Chinese companies are being excluded from many projects. Chinese app being banned. Non-tariff barriers are being created for the unloading of Chinese goods at ports. China has begun to look elsewhere to reduce imports. Most importantly, India is keen to strengthen the anti-China international alliance. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has criticized 'Chinese expansionism' without naming it. Whether the Chinese ambassador made such a soft statement just to keep business interests intact in this situation is being debated in the South Bloc.
According to a source in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, the statement is very 'compromising' in terms of past experience. According to the source, various organizations at the private level had earlier called for a boycott of Chinese products. The Chinese ambassador then called a press conference and sternly warned India that boycotting Chinese goods would cripple the Indian economy. This time there was talk of a boycott at the government level, but the ambassador's remarks were flexible. According to the source, Sun Widong has made this "cautious and compromising" statement realizing the adverse international reaction so that the situation does not escalate further.
The idea, part of the Foreign Ministry, is that China is giving mixed indications. In Galwan, China has suffered more casualties than India. This was the first time they got a small introduction to the strength of the Indian Army. It is a big reason for their enlightenment. So they agreed to retreat to Galwan and establish peace through compromise. But at the same time they are putting pressure on India through Nepal and Bhutan. According to this source, what the Chinese ambassador is doing to keep the anti-India Prime Minister Kharga Prasad Sharma Oli in power in Nepal is unprecedented in the diplomatic field. Again, all of a sudden, they have pushed for Bhutan's eastern border, which is adjacent to Arunachal Pradesh.
India's strategy is to strengthen power and surveillance along the Line of Actual Control. Accelerate the construction of infrastructure. Keep an eye on the situation in Nepal and Bhutan. And to put pressure on China by taking an active part in international alliances. The Nepalese government has hastily shut down India's private television channels, but India has not yet commented. For the time being, the South Bloc is keen to see the consequences of the internal strife of the ruling party in that country.
