It is said in the BBC Online report that Saadaf Khadem planned to return to Iran this week. In this case, arrest warrants were issued in his name. In the circumstances, he canceled his plans to return home.
Although no warrant was issued against Saadaf Khadem, he is yet to confirm in a French sports newspaper that he had to wear shorts and sleeveless dresses as a boxer. In Iran, he is likely to be accused of violating the traditional rules of wearing clothes. He said, 'I wear the robe after the ring, it is very normal to the whole world. My instructor is a man and I do not care about the hijab. These are probably crimes.
However, there was no comment from the Iranian government about whether such an arrest warrant was issued.
On 13th April, Saadaf Khadem came on a ring against French boxer Anne Sovin in Royan town. At that time, he was wearing green shirts, red shorts and white waistband, which is the color of Iran's national flag. After returning to the country, he hoped he would be treated like a 'hero'. But now, due to the opposite of the arrest warrant, his country was uncertain. As a boxer, 24-year-old Sadaf Khadem has to run in different countries. He had to fight against different opponents. But Iran's sports authority is seeking referees from the contest, judges-all should be women. Needless to say, the demand for Saadaf's participation in international level boxing has become very complicated.
For returning home, Saadaf Khadem and his coach, Iranian-born French citizen, Maher Manshipo, went to the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris to find out that arrest warrants were issued in their name. Former World Boxing Association champion Maher Manshippo, along with France's sports minister's adviser. He told the local media that they have a warrant of arrest in their names.
A spokesman for the Iranian embassy in Paris, told Reuters, he is not sure whether there is any warrant for Saadaf Khadem, or whether he has decided not to return to the country.
