Turkey's capital Ankara has lost the mayor's election, the president of the country's Recep Tayyip Erdogan team AK Party. Apart from this, another big city in Istanbul is lagging behind his team. As a result, he has faced a huge setback.
After the formation of the party in 2001, this was the first defeat of the Akkara regime. These elections were held on Sunday.
Erdouan is in Turkey for almost 16 years. Since then, he has been controlling the country's politics and is strictly governing the country. The election campaign started two months ago. He called this local election the election of Turkey's survival. His daily election rally and the overwhelming media coverage failed to conquer the voters in these two cities. There are indications that the impact of economic recession has been on this vote. The BBC has been told that this election is seen as the verdict of Erdovan's rule.
Turkey's television says the opposition party won the Republican People's Party (CHP) candidate Mansur Yawash Ankara. In addition, there is 28 thousand votes ahead in Istanbul.
CAHP leader Kamal Kulusdarlu said people voted in favor of democracy. They chose democracy.
There are more votes in this election. State news agency Anadolur Khabar said 84.52 percent of the votes were cast.
In the initial results, the state's economic zones are ahead in Istanbul too. But there is still no 1 percent ballot box open, which is considered as the strategy of win theft.
But the ruling AKP challenged Ankara's fruit. Their claim, the majority of 12 thousand 158 centers in Anarka have irregularities in the voting. The party's general secretary Fati Shahin said in a tweet that they will not be able to distort the will of the people. They will make full use of legal rights in this regard.
Turkey's journalist Rosen Chuck said that this election is as important as the 1994 elections. In the municipal elections of 1994, President Recep Tayyip Erdovan was elected mayor of Istanbul.
But Erdouan and his ally all over the country are ahead. They voted 51 percent of the votes and 37 percent of their opponents got votes. References: BBC and CNN
