Militant Islamic State (IS) is desperate to protect the remains of their caliphate in Syria.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump calls on European countries to take back the IS militants captured in Syria. After his call, the European Foreign Ministers are sitting in the meeting.
The decrease in the area of IS-occupied territories in Syria has now narrowed down. They have their last fort in some areas in the eastern part of the Syrian border. IS is preventing civilians from escaping from the area.
Trump, surprised by his allies in December, suddenly announced the withdrawal of two thousand US troops in Syria. US-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) supported Kurds in the war against IS.
SDF said on Sunday, the IS fighters stopped the public from escaping the streets of the country by blocking the roads.
A SDF soldier told AFP, the wave of the IS militants used to communicate between them was over. Now the area controlled by them is really shrinking. They do not have enough workout. They do not communicate too much to each other.
SDF spokesman Mustafa Bali said that the IS is trying to prevent the disruption of more than 2,000 ordinary people by blocking the streets.
Sian Ryan, a spokesman for the US-led military alliance, said that many people who have been able to escape from there, many of them say that IS militants are using women and children as humanism.
Foreign ministers in European countries are meeting in Brussels on Monday. They will discuss the crisis in Syria.
Hundreds of militants were arrested by the SDF on charges of fighting for IS in Syria from the EU countries including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Ireland, Canada and Italy. The Kurd-led army has been calling repeatedly to EU countries to bring back their respective citizens. But they did not sing it.
After the announcement of withdrawal of the troop withdrawal in December, the matter is very important. When the US troops leave, there is a danger of creating a void in security. Then the militants can become difficult to control the SDF.
Trump said in the tweet on Saturday that the empire of the Islamic State was in decline. If European combatants are not repatriated for trial now they can be released. This is a threat to the future.
